Paint Rock River

The Paint Rock River is a beautiful waterway that flows south into the Tennessee River, providing over 50 river miles of enjoyment. The river flows through wooded areas as well as remote pastureland. This is the most remote river in our area. There are limited sandbars and shoals, therefore most of your time will be spent floating. This environment may not be ideal for smaller children who need time to run and play, or for people who enjoy meeting other groups of paddlers. This is the perfect river for the individual or groups that want a quiet day, or days, of seclusion while enjoying themselves. Whether you want a five hour trip or a multi-night camping trip that can end into the Tennessee River, allowing you to paddle into Ditto Landing, the Paint Rock River is a great way to spend time alone, or with a group, and enjoy the beauty and relaxation of paddling! Due to its close proximity to Huntsville, you can be on the Paint Rock River and enjoying yourself in well under an hour!
